Series records receipt of supplies into the Boston state store (referred to until late July 1776 as the colony store), May 1-Oct. 31, 1776, by supplier name, commodity, and quantity, including chiefly flour from Martin Brimmere, blankets received from various counties, and other necessities such as candles and coats. Marginal notations reference other books kept by the commissary general: under/over-scored numbers are pages in: Issuing books ((M-Ar)2280X), 1778-1791; underscored numbers followed by a dot are pages in: Supply ledger ((M-Ar)2472X), 1776-1792; circled numbers are pages in: Daybooks ((M-Ar)2328X), 1776-1792. From Nov. 21, 1776, receipt of supplies is recorded in that last series.
